PORT AUTHORITY INTRODUCES INTERACTIVE MAP FOR STEWART INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The Port Authority today launched a new interactive map for Stewart International Airport, providing travelers with a dynamic platform to navigate the entire airport from the comfort of their homes. The map also features a comprehensive series of links to regional attractions such as wineries, inns, hotels, antique dealers, shopping malls, arts organizations, golf courses and historic sites.

Port Authority Chairman Anthony R. Coscia said, “This useful tool is another way we're trying to make Stewart into a strong regional airport and builds on our ongoing commitment to make all the agency’s facilities as customer friendly as possible. Not only does the map provide extensive information about Stewart, but it also highlights an array of things to do and see in the Hudson Valley.”

Port Authority Executive Director Chris Ward said, “Customer service is a hallmark of everything we do, and for our airports, we look at the entire experience, from the living room to the runway and back again. Our thanks go to all our partners in the Hudson Valley who provided invaluable assistance so that we could deliver this handy online feature to our customers.”

The airport portion of the interactive map provides an easy-to-follow format that plainly lists the terminal’s gate areas, amenities, and facilities, as well as a guide to airport parking.

Another click of the mouse takes users to an airport environs page, which offers hundreds of links to orchards, shops, theaters, museums, and much more. The map covers a multicounty region encompassing much of the Lower and Mid-Hudson Valley, ranging from the southernmost point in New York State, north to Ulster County, east to the Connecticut border and west to the Pennsylvania and New Jersey borders.

In addition to Port Authority technical staff, the effort was supported by Susan Hawvermale-Cayea, Director of Orange County Tourism.

Korean Air Orders Two More A380s

Korean Air has placed firm orders with Airbus for two more double-deck A380 aircraft. This latest purchase agreement brings the total number of A380s ordered by Korean Air to ten aircraft. The carrier will operate the aircraft in a three-class layout on routes linking Seoul to destinations in North America and Europe, including Los Angeles, New York and Paris.

"Our decision to purchase the A380 aircraft is in line with our vision to become a global leading carrier providing the best quality of service to our passengers," said Yang Ho Cho, Chairman and CEO of Korean Air. "The A380 is a comfortable, environment-friendly aircraft for the 21st century and it will enable Korean Air to provide Excellence in Flight to our customers."

John Leahy, Airbus Chief Operating Officer, Customers said: "This order from Korean Air underscores the unique ability of the A380 to meet future growth requirements on the most heavily-travelled routes. By placing additional orders today, Korean Air will be even better placed to consolidate its position as a leading global carrier, offering its passengers the highest levels of in-flight comfort aboard this all new flagship of the airline industry."

The eco-efficient A380 is already setting new standards for air transport and the environment. In addition to offering unequalled levels of passenger comfort, space and quietness in the cabin, the A380 has unmatched levels of fuel efficiency, consuming less than three litres per passenger per 100 kilometres. Its new-generation engines and superb aerodynamic performance mean that the A380 not only complies with today's noise limits, it is also significantly quieter than any other large aircraft flying today.

With a range of 8 200 nm / 15 200 km, and seating 525 passengers in a standard three class layout, the A380 is the ideal aircraft to alleviate traffic congestion at busy airports, while coping with growth.

Total orders for the aircraft now stand at 200 from 16 customers.
